The Municipality of Cassina de’ Pecchi has had an active street-art movement since 2015, but weather and neglect have led to the deterioration of several works that are now slated for progressive renewal and replacement. New interventions will be selected by a popular jury to stimulate dialogue between residents and Third Sector associations.

Concept

In the feasibility study for the “La bellezza ritrovata” grant, highly critical walls were identified for recovery. In parallel, four concepts emerged to be proposed and integrated into the final sketches:

  • Apiculture and silkworms

  • Ancient crafts

  • Bonfires: the warmth of fire, peoples, and hospitality

  • Art restored

Added value

Project benefits

The production phase will be entrusted to Infinite Officine, an Associated Professional Studio, as the provider of artistic and digital services.
The murals will be enhanced with Augmented Reality, allowing the artwork to appear on a smartphone in 3D so viewers can move around it in space.
QR codes will link to a dedicated page on the Ecomuseo Martesana website, which serves as a historical, artistic, and cultural archive. This will make it possible to review existing works across the area and to design a Virtual Tour that connects and contextualizes them, increasing the municipality’s educational and tourism potential.

The bond created between the artwork, the city, and the environment will also have significant educational and cultural implications, encouraging reflections on the community and its relationship with itself and with nature, and building a bridge between technology, local roots, and the city’s future.
